INTRODUCCIÓN

La presente investigación, que ha sido financiada por el Excmo. Cabildo Insular de Gran

Canaria, tiene como objetivo el análisis de la prevalencia del acoso escolar en los centros

educativos de Gran Canaria. Además de realizar dicho estudio, también se ha procedido

a situar esta investigación en el debate teórico y empírico del análisis del acoso escolar,

exponiendo los datos más actuales y el marco de referencia existente en el ámbito.

2 castillos manchegos, Calatrava y Belmonte, por Luis Miguel Villar Angulo



El Castillo de Calatrava la Nueva está ubicado en el término del pueblo Aldea del Rey de la provincia de Ciudad Real. Se levanta sobre un cerro de 936 mts. de altura. Para alcanzar el rellano próximo a la entrada se va por un camino empedrado bordeando la colina, construido en tiempos de Felipe II. La orden de Calatrava se fundó en 1158 por monjes cistercienses en otro cerro coocido como Caltarava la Vieja. Mientras, Calatrava la Nueva representa el espíritu noble y religioso de una orden militar conforme a la regla monástica. Conserva en este sentido un convento y un castillo. Fundado en 1217 después de la batalla de las Navas de Tolosa, en la cercana Santa Elena, entre Ciudad Real y Jaén. A partir de entoces los caballeros caltaravos se intalan en Calatrava la Vieja. El convento se mantuvo aquí 600 años y luego se trasladó a Almagro. Tiene tres murallas. Dentro aparece la Calle de los Artesanos con el "molino de sangre"., la tahona, horno, fragua... La planta de la Iglesia (S. XIII) de tipo basilical es el edificio principal del Convento con elementos románicos y góticos. Fábrica de mampostería y argamasa de cal y arena. Pilares, arcos y nervios de roca volcánica roja. La Puerta de la Estrella tiene un gran rosetón. Los miembros de la orden tenían privilegios:«El Sacro Convento podrá gozar con sus ganados de todos los pastos de sus términos concejiles, pastando sus yerbas, bebiendo las aguas, etc y pueden hacerlo los demás vecinos de dicha villa».


A 186 kms. de distancia, por la autovía de Exremadura a la Comunida Valenciana, se encuentra el Castillo de Belmonte, situado en la provincia de Cuenca. De estilo gótico mudéjar, fue construido por Don Juan Pacheco en 1456. Su marquesado tuvo su máximo esplendor en la época de los Reyes Católicos participando el segundo marqués de Villena en la conquista de Granada. Dos épocas delimitan la configuración arquitectónica del edificio: el palacio medieval con el salón del estrado, salón de embajadores, y salón señorial, y otra del siglo XIX, cuando fue propietaria del mismo Eugenia de Montijo, emperatriz de Francia, con el dormitorio y los artesonados, todo ello museizado al estilo imperial fránces. En la plaza de armas, se encuentran entre otras dependencias, una con réplicas de armaduras de la época. Desde el castillo se divisa Belmonte con su colegiata. Se recorre el adarve con sus siete torres, una de las cuales contiene locuciones de los literatos. La descripción de la muralla es valiosa: 100 troneras, nueve cubos, tres puertas y originales almenas de tipo puntilla.

Siran Mukerji, a Jawahar Lal Nehru scholar for Doctoral studies in Human Resource Development, has Masters in Distance Education and Public Administration. She has been International Research Fellow of Open University Business School (2009), Open University (UK). At Arab Open University Saudi Arabia, she was a faculty member in Business Administration. She is one of the Editors-in-Chief of International Journal of Technology and Educational Marketing and Author/Editor of Teaching Case books on Innovations in Educational Marketing, Interactive Technology Environments, Technology Enhanced Learning, Transnational Learning & Technologically enabled Environments, and Technological Adaptability and Transnational Learning. She has contributed articles in standard national and international journals and presented papers in national and international conferences. Dr. Mukerji is a member of review committees for numerous international conferences and journals. Her research interests include Performance Management and HRM in Open and Distance Learning institutions. As Deputy Director in IGNOU (India), she is responsible for student recruitment and related support services management.


Purnendu Tripathi, an International Research Fellow (2009) of Open University Business School (OUBS) at Open University (UK), has a Ph.D in Management. At Arab Open University (AOU) Saudi Arabia, as a faculty member in Business Administration, he was faculty mentor, programme and course coordinator entrusted with the responsibility of training and development of the faculty members teaching in open and distance learning (ODL) environment, besides his own teaching and research in ODL. Currently, he is serving as one of the Editors-in-Chief of International Journal of Technology and Educational Marketing (IJTEM). He has authored/edited five Teaching Case books on Innovations in Educational Marketing, Interactive Technology Environments, Technology Enhanced Learning, Transnational Learning & Technologically enabled Environments, and Technological Adaptability and Transnational Learning. His current research interests include Higher Education Management, Higher Education Marketing, and Academic Program Life Cycle (APLC). In his parent institution, IGNOU (India), he is Deputy Director, looking after academic management and student support services in open and distance learning.
